My Philosophy
My approach to coaching is built on one simple belief: lasting health and fitness come from consistent habits, not quick fixes.

Personal training should be about more than just counting reps.
My coaching philosophy underpins both my personal training in Wakefield and my online coaching programmes across the UK.

My Coaching Philosophy
Health and fitness shouldn’t feel like punishment.
For many people, the fitness industry has become confusing, extreme and unsustainable — filled with quick fixes, restrictive diets and all-or-nothing thinking.
That’s not what Habitual Health & Fitness is about.
My approach is built on a few simple principles.
1. Consistency beats perfection
Real progress comes from consistent habits, not short bursts of extreme effort.
Small actions, repeated over time, create lasting change.
2. Strength builds confidence
Training isn’t about shrinking your body.
It’s about building strength, resilience and confidence — physically and mentally.
Strength, not shrinking.
3. Your training should support your life
Fitness should enhance your life, not dominate it.
Programmes need to work with real schedules, real stress and real responsibilities.
4. Your body is not the enemy
Hormonal changes, ageing and life stress all influence how our bodies respond to training and nutrition.
Understanding your body — rather than fighting it — is the key to sustainable progress.
5. Habits create lasting change
The real goal isn’t short-term transformation.
It’s building habits that support your health for years to come.
That’s what makes health and fitness habitual.

What You Can Expect
When you work with me, you can expect:
• A supportive, encouraging coaching environment
• Strength-focused training that builds confidence and resilience
• Practical guidance around nutrition and lifestyle habits
• Programmes tailored to your goals and experience level
• Honest, professional coaching built on over 20 years of experience
My aim is not just to help you achieve results, but to help you understand your body and develop habits that support your health for years to come.

Built on Habits. Backed by Coaching.
Real change happens when healthy behaviours become part of everyday life.
That’s why the Habitual Health & Fitness approach focuses on building strong foundations — training consistently, fuelling your body well, and creating routines that support your long-term wellbeing.
Because when health and fitness become habitual, progress stops feeling like a struggle and starts feeling like part of who you are.
“I don’t take my life seriously, but I do take what I do in my life seriously."
With extensive education & over 20 years of experience helping people improve their health, strength and confidence, my coaching combines evidence-based training, sensible nutrition and sustainable habits to help clients build results that actually last.
Life, for me, is about balance. I believe in working hard, looking after your health and showing up for the things that matter… but also laughing, enjoying yourself and not taking life quite so seriously all the time.
As Audrey Hepburn once said: “I don’t take my life seriously, but I do take what I do in my life seriously."
That same philosophy runs through my coaching too — train hard, look after yourself, enjoy the process, and never forget that health and fitness should enhance your life, not take it over.
"I have absolute trust in Jen. If I’m feeling unsure or not believing in myself she know exactly how to build me up (emotionally as well as physically!) Her expertise and knowledge means she has high standards and she pushes me to meet mine, but always with sensitivity and positivity."
